Pippa Shennan
Pippa has an Honours Degree in Agricultural Botany from Aberystwyth University. She obtained her Garden Design qualification at The Cotswold Gardening School in 2012 and then returned more recently to study both Planting Design and Horticulture in order to obtain a Diploma. She now runs her own garden design company Earthmark Garden Design.
This year Pippa is designing and constructing a show garden at the RHS Malvern Spring Show, with the main theme based around the importance of noise attenuation, particularly in urban gardens.
Pippa is an Accredited Partner of the Wildflower Turf Ltd, specialising in designing, installing and maintaining wildflower meadows and planting schemes.
Pippa is also a keen gardener and has her own allotment for which she has won a number of local awards, culminating in ‘Best Kept Allotment’ in 2015. She produces all her vegetables and flowers using organic and biodynamic methods and is a member of the Soil association, Grow Organic and the Biodynamic Association.
As well as a passion for growing plants and designing with them, Pippa is also an accomplished artist specialising in watercolour. As expected, her subjects are mainly flowers and she regularly exhibits with the Society of Botanical Artists in London. Other societies that have exhibited her work are The Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Institute of painters in Watercolour.
She has a passion for biodynamic and organic gardening as well as vegetable growing. Pippa teaches on our One Day Biodynamic Gardening course as well as acting as visiting lecturer on the Ten Week Courses. We are also hoping to tempt Pippa to run some vegetable growing courses for us.
