Welcome to The Cotswold Gardening School - Gardening Courses & Garden Design Courses
The Cotswold Gardening School now offers a range of professional qualifications in Garden Design, Planting and Horticulture. Students are awarded a Ten Week Diploma for the successful completion of any of our three courses in Garden Design, Planting Design and Horticulture.
We also offer another separate One Year Diploma Course in Professional Garden Design. This course concentrates solely on the subject of garden design for the whole academic year and has a more traditional academic structure of three terms starting in September. With a year to focus solely on garden design, this course can go into great depth with visiting lecturers and four live projects for real clients over the academic year. This course is externally assessed and quality checked by Bridgwater College in Somerset. Please come along to our taster mornings on Saturday 11th July, Saturday 8th August or Saturday 29th August 2015 at 10am, for an informal talk, and a chance to have a look at past students' work and a tour of the gardens and grounds at Gossington Hall. The morning starts at 10am. There is no charge for the taster session, but booking is essential.
Additionally half-day gardening workshops are offered, such as the very popular Christmas wreath making to help you to unlock your creativity and take something unique home.
Treat someone with one of our lovely luxury gardening gift vouchers, available on all our day courses - proving to be a very popular and appreciated present.
The Cotswold Gardening School is located in Gloucestershire within the grounds of historic Gossington Hall, which is currently undergoing a programme of major refurbishment
The classroom is located within the old dairy building and has already been restored, offering comfortable accommodation for study. Set within a working walled kitchen garden and adjacent to Caroline Tatham's busy garden design practice the schoolroom provides the perfect venue for comfortable and relaxed learning.
Come and learn something new and enjoy a day away from the pressures of your busy schedule in a very special setting.
All profits from the gardening school are dedicated to the restoration of our 9 acre garden, featuring an original medieval stew pond. The gardens are currently undergoing major renovation works, a true labour of love, breathing life back into these lost gardens of Gloucestershire. With prior arrangement you can come and explore the gardens and enjoy our unique location.
Caroline has built gardens at the Eden Project, been awarded several prizes for her design including for her planting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, designed & built the celebrity stages at the RHS Malvern Autumn and Spring Shows and appeared on the television series 'A Garden For Eden'. She is in her second year of mentoring the Festival Gardens at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, a new show garden category for aspiring garden designers. Caroline has also taught at the world famous English Gardening School in London.
